AFC U-19 CHAMPIONSHIP 2010 QUALIFIERS: THAILAND WINS AGAINST LAOS 1-0
BANGKOK: Three teams are locked on six points after two matches of the AFC U-19 Championship 2010 Group E qualifiers
Korea Republic head the table on goal difference after their 5-1 victory over Macau, with Vietnam and Thailand in second and third place respectively.
Vietnam overcame Bangladesh 1-0 while Thailand also had a 1-0 triumph over Laos. Vietnam lead the Thais on more goals scored, with both teams having a +4 record.
Only the top two teams qualify directly for next year’s finals. The team who finishes third may also have a chance to qualify as one of the two best third-placed teams.
Ji Dong-won scored a hat-trick for the Koreans, who led 3-0 at half-time with Lim Jin-uk and Baek Sung-dong also scoring a goal each. Leong Ka-hang scored Macau’s only goal in the 54th minute when they were already 4-0 down.
All that separated Vietnam and Bangladesh was Ha Minh Tuan’s goal in the ninth minute as Vietnam won their second match in the tournament. Thailand also maintained their 100 per cent record with Khamrin Natthawut scoring the winning goal in the 67th minute.
